Womens Health & Birth Education Series

This is much more in depth than a typical childbirth class. When we hear birth stories or see these images on tv, it is often the negative, emergency-type situations. It is
understandable that when nearing the end of pregnancy, anxieties and tensions begin to arise about the unknown. Being educated about the whole process of birth
drastically reduces the fear that often is associated with pregnancy and delivery. It also will empower women to make choices for the birth they desire.

In this series, we will be examining movement techniques to aide in physical comfort as well as safe exercise strategies to keep the pelvic floor and abdominals functioning optimally. A large portion will be given to the pelvic floor, labor and pushing methods, specific coping techniques as well as the hormonal component to pain management, relaxation and breathing methods.  The last week of the course will be exploring the first few weeks postpartum.

Week 1: Safe Exercise & Body Mechanics

Week 2: Preparing Your Pelvic Floor & Breathing

Week 3: Hormones, Pain Management & Labor

Week 4: Early Postpartum Period

After completing this series, mamas will leave confident and trusting that they have tools to work with and thru their labors, no matter what that looks like for them.

No yoga experience is required. Please wear comfortable clothing with a fairly loose waistband so we can work on our diaphragmatic breathing and still be comfortable. Eligible for CEU’s through Yoga Alliance.
